# Why does the Shortcuts app flash briefly when I open certain apps?

When you launch an app from the minimalist phone widgets, **some apps open directly, while others are routed through Apple's Shortcuts app** for compatibility reasons. In those cases, the Shortcuts interface appears momentarily—typically for just a fraction of a second—before the target app loads. 

This behavior stems from how iOS handles app integrations, as not all apps support direct launching via widgets. We're actively working on expanding direct-open support for more apps in upcoming updates, where technically feasible.
